Health Coaching
As a Health Coach, I will become your supportive wellness mentor. I will help you to achieve your goals through food and lifestyle changes. I recognize that your career, relationships, and a spirituality practice play a significant role in your health. Instead of prescribing one diet or way of exercising, we will create an individualized wellness program to meet your needs.
Health coaching helps with conditions including:
weight loss, stress reduction, improving sleep, decreasing pain and inflammation in your body, improving relationships, career transitions, changing negative behavior patterns and so much more.
We will meet in person, phone or video call two times a month for either a three or six month program and maintain email contact in between our sessions if needed.

About Me
I am a healthcare practitioner with 18 years of experience. I am a Physical Therapist, Yoga Instructor and a Holistic Health Coach. I graduated with a Masters and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 2003. I received my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification from Vitality Yoga in 2013, and my Holistic Health Coaching certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2016. In 2017, I completed an additional 100-hour Advanced Physiyoga Teacher Training from the Threes Physiyoga Method. This method specifically merges physical therapy principles with yoga.

My journey of transformation began in 1996 from sustaining multiple level cervical and lumbar disc herniations after being involved in a car accident. While undergoing physical therapy for my injuries, I became very interested in the field, as I was beginning to heal. After graduating from the University at Albany in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I went on to graduate school to pursue Physical Therapy as a career. I began my career treating people using traditional techniques as I had learned in school. While living with and experiencing my own episodes of neck pain and lower back pain, I began exploring pilates and yoga. Around the same time, a patient of mine gave me a book by John Sarno called Healing Back Pain. His teachings opened my mind to the possibility that physical experiences as well as patterns in our mind associated with these experiences may be contributing to chronic pain. Through a consistent yoga practice that included asanas, pranayama, meditation, studying the philosophy of yoga as well and studying my own mind and belief patterns, my back pain began to reduce and eventually disappear. When I have experienced flair ups over the years, I now have many tools to work with. I continue to have a diagnosis of multiple level cervical and lumbar disc herniations without feeling any consistent or chronic pain. This relief enabled me to follow my path to helping people and introducing tools for them to help heal pain in their bodies as well. I am confident that the physical, emotional and spiritual well being is interconnected and can not be separated. I greatly believe that this is the way toward living a more balanced, healthier life.

From here, my love of the body, mind and healthcare practices continued. I became more aware of how certain foods contribute to inflammation and pain in the body. I experimented with eliminating foods from my own diet and adding in more healthy choices. This increased awareness and change in food choices helped clear up my skin, increased my energy, allowed me to sleep better, and improved my relationships as well as my career. I wanted to be able to share my experiences with other people as well. As a Holistic Health Coach, I look at you as a whole person while integrating various techniques. We will work together to find what works best for you to allow for optimal healing.

My personal journey continues as I deepen my knowledge of the body and mind. I would love to help you become the best version of yourself through improving your awareness of the connection between your body and your mind. My goal is for you to learn and practice the techniques that we perform together, so that you can incorporate them into your life. These practices will help you enjoy a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. I keep my mind open to various aspects of healing for myself, my patients and clients. I look forward to working with you on your journey!
